THE MATERIAL Log is a natural material. CENTER HIRSI OY only uses in his production Finnish northern pine. All the logs are made of pine of Finland, which has grown slowly under hard conditions. The other building equipments delivered also are made of natural raw materials. Log is a durable material. The annual rings of northern pine are very narrow. Therefore it resists the erosion very well and lasts even hundred of years. Log is warm material. A massive log wall alone fullfills the demands of the health insulation standards. As a combined construction with even better insulation materials, the Finnish log wall is a very economical alternative as far as the purchase price and the heating costs are concerned. The timber also reserves heat energy. This means that the walls absorb heat energy and spread it throughout the room naturally when needed. In this way the logs regulate the temperature changes effectually. |
